The number of people using Social Media technologies is constantly expanding. Here are some of the more recent statistics:

Facebook:
- 9.3  million Australians are active users
  – 21% = 13 to 19 yo
  – 35% = 20 to 29 yo
  – 21% = 30 to 39 yo
  – 13% = 40 to 49 yo
  – 8% = 50 to 59 yo
  – 2% = 60+ yo

- Facebook was 1 in every 5 pages viewed
- Facebook had 19.3% pages viewed to Google 7.4%

Twitter:
- 175 million users
- 95 million Tweets per day
